First Wednesday of the month: 10.00 – 20.00
The museum is closed on Mondays.

Thursday to Saturday: 13.00 – 17.00
Sunday: 11.00 – 17.00
The exhibition «Basel Carnival» remains closed until further notice. Entry to our cool main building and to all other exhibtions remains free until further notice.

Adolescents 13-18 years: CHF 5
Kids up to 12 years: free entry
Students/Apprentices up to 29 years: CHF 5
Groups of 10 or more, per person: CHF 11
Invalidity pension recipients (AI), including 1 assistant: CHF 11
Holders of the Museums-PASS-Musées or the Swiss Museum Pass, colourkey, members of the Kulturkreis, members of ICOM/VMS, and members of the Bundesverband der Ethnolog*innen enjoy free entry.

Adults, 16 years and over: CHF 10

Museum passes such as the Swiss Museum Pass are not valid for the Wednesday matinée
How to reach us
Getting there by public transport:
Take tram no. 2 (from Bahnhof SBB or Badischer Bahnhof) to the stop “Kunstmuseum” and then proceed by foot through St. Alban-Anlage and Rittergasse and across Münsterplatz until you reach the entrance of the museum at Münsterplatz 20.
By car:
On the motorway, take either the exit “Basel City” or “Badischer Bahnhof” and then follow the park guidance system to the nearest public car park in town.

Guidelines and rules of conduct
- Eating, drinking, and smoking are not permitted in the museum
- Animals have to stay outside, with the exception of guide dogs and medically prescribed assistance dogs (with medical certificate).
- Rucksacks, bags, and suitcases have to be deposited in the cloakroom. Small handbags up to the size of DIN A4 are allowed in the exhibition galleries.
- Please deposit your umbrella in the provided stands.
- The museum attendants are responsible for your safety and that of the exhibits. Please support them at all times and follow their instructions.
