Facts and Figures
The Museum der Kulturen operates an ethnological museum in 11 buildings, managed in accordance with the principles of the International Council of Museums, based on the model principles for the Basel Museums and the Museums Act.Ongoing change
After comprehensive renovation, the Museum der Kulturen opened to the public again in September 2011. Between reopening and the end of 2012 the museum put on various exhibitions, making full use of the four exhibition floors. These included eight special shows, one permanent exhibition and two cooperation projects. The enhanced exhibition cadence allows us to show an increasing number of artefacts held in our rich collections.
